I'm back!!

Now as I look out from the window of my office i see this ... Previously we had a small pergola for all my orchids collection at this side of our house. But it had turn into a terrible pathetic scene due to lack of time taking care of the plants.

I've been procrastinating to re-do the landscaping, giving myself lots and lots of excuses.... but finally have no choice when the pergola almost collapse after heavy rain two weeks ago.

Thus, decided to plant something easy to maintain and targeted to get it done before hubby return from his business trip to-night!! Finally got it done yesterday and it's still not perfect now, as I'm still looking for some flowers to add into the green. The only flower can survive with this terrible hot weather here is the beautiful Spider Lily which is my favorite.

On the other hand, guess what is this?

It's High Line Shawl !! Knitted with the beautiful Malabrigo Chunky yarn! Used up 4 skeins of Tuareg with 9mm needle. The yarn is very soft and nice to knit with.

I knitted 5 repeats instead of 4 according to the instruction.

Wear it as stole/wrap

as a scarf.

Damson Shawl

Eliana and Marico have finished at the same time!! After seeing their gorgeous Damson Shawl, I decided to re-block mine. This is the new look of my Damson Shawl!

Damson Shawl Day - 7

Done!!

This is the 1st time I managed to knit a shawl within 1 week!! It's not that I can knit fast, it's because of the inspiration from Eliana, Marico and Olivia, the lovely pattern by Ysolda and the beautiful Noro yarn!

Total yarn used: 3 1/2 balls with lots of green and red taken out. otherwise, i think 2 1/2 balls should be enough. I used 4mm circular needle for this shawl.

This picture shows the actual colour of Shawl.The total weight is 108gm...

Noro Silk Garden Fine is 40gm/144m/ball.

I took away green and red as I didnt want to have too many colours for this shawl.

I did kbl 6 sts and purl the 4 sts which to be unravelled and purl 30 sts for the braid fringe.

Montego Bay Scarf

The Kimono Sweater is done but I am still looking for suitable buttons. To get the right colour buttons to match with this sweater is really not easy!! While waiting for the buttons, I have just completed this scarf which I wanted to knit long ago... finally managed to get the right yarn for this project!

Yarn: Handmaiden Fine Yarn Sea Silk

Needle used: 5.5mm

Lovely yarn!! soft and nice to knit with. Since it comes in 600m/150g/skein, I double the CO sts and make the size of a stole. The end product is just lovely and I can used it in many ways.

Lily of the Valley Stole

Needle: 4mm circular knitting needle

I CO 83sts for an additional repeat to make it wider and I added 4 repeats on the length. Thus became a stole instead a scarf.

This shawl pattern was in my "must do" list since last year. I finally pick up the needle and yarns and started this project on April fool day!! Love the silk finishing, it's very soft.

Fountain Pen Shawl

I have a WIP on this pattern in Japanese Silk yarn and it's comming up very slowly because of the fine yarn. Since I needed to knit a quick triangle shawl for someone, I thought I should try this pattern on some Merino Wool. It's so much faster knitting on this yarn and I'm happy with the end result.
